We crafted the first Otter Cottage playhouse over two decades ago in an old stone barn nestled in East Devon. The concept was born from a desire to merge playhouses with climbing frames, creating a versatile play area that was absent in the market. Having witnessed the limited options available, none seemed robust enough for adults to engage safely in the fun—an essential aspect for our family's playful interactions.
Evolution of the Playhouse
Initially envisioned as merely a charming wooden playhouse, Otter Cottage soon evolved. The integration of a raised deck and surrounding play activities transformed it into a multifunctional family haven. Over the years, this concept has been refined to balance aesthetics with functionality, ensuring durability against the playful rigor of children and adults alike.
